Greetings, my beans! The name’s Penny Wood!

I’m a Christian, writer, blogger, film fan, book dragon, amateur artist, theme park enthusiast, and all around crusty bean. When I was 5 years old, my dream job was to be a cashier at MacDonald’s. But when that didn’t work out, I decided to be a writer instead.

I love writing. Stories swirl around in my head all day long and I dream about them at night. My love for storytelling has bled over to my interest in character design, film, and novels. I’ve studied storytelling and that’s affected the way I consume media. 

That’s why I now blog about the stories I love (and even the ones I don’t) and explain why I think they work or don’t work. Talking about character arcs and growth. Worldbuilding and plotting. Prose and dialogue.

  4. People look at me funny and tell me that I can’t laugh out loud while I read books, but that way people can’t tell I’m reading…ish. I have a reading problem.

    1. 😂😂😂 Well, I DEFINITELY think it’s a good thing if you’re laughing out loud while you’re reading. Cuz that means it is one awesome book!!!
      And I have the worst problem reading. Once I almost started crying in a dentist office cuz I was reading Wonder 😂😂❤😭😭😭

      1. That is what I’ll tell them next time! Apparently I should chuckle softly or smile gently, but then people don’t ask, and then I can’t recommend it!
        Wonder is a sad but amazing book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Summer was my favorite character.

      I did! I drew for a while at one time, but overtime I started doing more writing than drawing. I was never good at it, but I loved drawing still!

  11. Oh my goodness, whyyy did I not discover your blog sooner?? I love your posts; they are hilarious with all the perfect gifs and *gasps* YOU LOVE STAR WARS. I’m fairly new to the fandom and I’m just now watching the prequels, but… I love all the original episodes (I refuse to watch any of the new ones).

    Also, if you’re not going to college, do you have any career options in mind? Because usually it’s easier to make a living with a degree, but of course some awesome people have done awesome things without a degree so (trails away because she doesn’t have a finish for this sentence)

      Well, I’m planning to be a writer! Seeing as that doesn’t REQUIRE me to have a degree, I see no point in getting one if I don’t need it! I’d love to be a mom and a wife too, but first I’d have to find a guy. And there have been none yet XD

  14. Hey Penny! I love your blog. I just love it so much. You’re so fun to read. I loved your Toy Story 4 review, too. I totally agree with your ideas about the ending. The ending was kinda dissatisfying, to be honest. But YES. DUCKY AND BUNNY. Can I just start fangirling over THE PLUSHRUSH?? Oh my gosh I was dying for like ten minutes on the floor.
